Working mainly in plein air, I find reassurance in fresh air, the sounds of the trees swaying against each other, and blowing leaves. Oil paint acts as a device to collect special moments of nature onto a solid surface. The light changes, the winds shift, and the scene turns to something new. During this time, I look carefully, but move the brush freely to capture a moment in time.
